Vegan Earth Mama: October and Halloween 2010

Kai and I love to explore our neighborhood. We started when he was just a couple weeks old by going for stroller rides. Then walking and bike riding. Always stopping to smell the roses, pick one tiny blue or yellow flower, or feed carrots to one of the neighborhood bunnies.

We love tacos around here. In fact, we love mexican food. I'm sure that's because mexican food is so veg-friendly. Our cooked tacos usually consist of black beans, peppers and onions, homemade guacamole, spanish rice, cubes of cooked sweet potato, and whole wheat tortillas.

Kai had lots of treats in October, especially Yummy earth organic lollipops. He also had his first skinned knees. He was such a tough boy about it. We were on a bike ride, and he got down to explore. He started running, a new skill for him, and tripped. I put him on his bike, my stomach kind of turning at the sight of his blood trickling down his leg. He started bobbing his head and laughing, not phased by it at all. That epitomizes our boy.

After we handed out candy at our house, Uncle Buddy and Aunt Mary asked us to come trick or treat at their house. They had gotten a lot of vegan treats for Kai. When we got there, Kai went to the door and knocked all by himself.

His cousins- T, K, and J answered the door. They had just gotten back from their trick- or -treating. Ama was inside too! Uncle Buddy filled Kai's bucket with goodies.
