This year for Thanksgiving, my sister made a bunch of the vegan dishes to share. This made it much easier on Dan and I. She made chickpea gravy (seriously yummmy from
Vegan with a Vengeance), bread pudding, beets, green beans, mashed potatoes, and apple pie. All we had to make was a lentil/nut loaf, dressing (a.k.a.: stuffing) and sweet potato casserole. Instead of my usual pumpkin pie that I've made for years, I tried a new "simpler" recipe. It tasted pretty terrible. I actually heard one of my uncles say to another, "The pumpkin pie is pretty terrible. I don't know who made it." I was standing right beside them. "Uh, I'm right here!" I waved. I knew it wasn't good either, so it was quite funny. I will definitely be making my good ol' version next year! Everything was delicious, and it was so wonderful to be with all of our family enjoying this feast.
